Languages

The languages taught twice a week in evening classes are: Dutch, English, and German.

For Whom?

The members of the ULiège community (students and staff), especially students who wish to study abroad (Erasmus, etc.)

Practical Organization

Classes take place twice a week:

  • a two-hour class dedicated to studying the language: vocabulary, listening comprehension, reading comprehension, writing skills;
  • a two-hour conversation class.

In practice:

  • Twice a week
  • Each module is organized twice a year: from October to the winter break, and from February to the beginning of May.

NB: any given course or level can be organized providing enough students register.

The following list will help you choose your language course.

For each course you will find the corresponding days and places where it will take place, as well as a programme description (hyperlink) containing all the information you need to choose your course: CEFR level, learning outcomes, methodology and  contents.

 

Dutch

Basic:

A1 - Monday and Wednesday, downtown Pitteurs, 18:00-20:00 - programme description   

Intermediate:

A2 - to be determined

 

English

Basic:

A1 / A2 - Monday and Wednesday, downtown Pitteurs, 18:00-20:00 - programme description     

Intermediate:

B1 / B2 - Monday and Wednesday, downtown Pitteurs, 18:00-20:00 - programme description     

 

German

Basic:

A1 - Tuesday and Thursday, downtown Pitteurs, 18:00-20:00 - programme description

Certification

A certificate of attendance will be issued if requested, provided the teacher thinks the student has put enough time and effort into the training.

Registration fee

120 € (The registration fee can be refunded by the Teaching and Students Administration for students returning from an Erasmus exchange and who have a certificate of attendance.)

  • First semester: August 17 to September 27, 2026 - Second semester: December 14, 2026 to January 31, 2027

Please read the following CAREFULLY:

  • The registration fee must be paid before October 3 for the courses taking place during the first semester, and before February 6 for the courses taking place during the second semester, otherwise you won’t be allowed to take the course. Please pay to:

  • If you want to pay by invoice, please send us your request at islvle@uliege.be. In that case, please do not pay anything before receiving the invoice. We can also send you a payment certificate, would this proof of payment be sufficient for you.
  • Should the course not be organised because of an insufficient number of students, you’ll be refunded in October for the courses taking place during the first semester, and in February for the courses taking place during the second semester.
  • A refund is possible only if you cancel your participation before the second week of the course. A 10% fee will be retained.
